The weekend edit #7

After a couple of weeks (*ahem* maybe months) the weekend edit is back! I don’t know about you but it’s been a hectic start to the year both at work and home. A host of new projects have taken off in the office, I’ve searched and prepared for another move, and adjusted to sharing a room with James in the shared house I’m renting. Throw in a couple of social events and the time has flown by at a scary pace. I don’t think I’ll ever adjust to how quickly time disappears in London, even sitting back and relaxing seems to go by in a flash!

February is almost upon us and I’m already picturing spring and slightly milder temperatures. This means I’m starting to look at what’s going on in London and what I can put in the diary. So here’s my favourite city snapshot of the week (which I thought summed up the feeling of watching the world whizz by!) and a few ideas for this weekend.



Eat at Bird – The latest fried chicken restaurant to land in London. It looks much tastier than the Colonel’s in Giulia’s review on her great food and travel blog, Mondomulia.

Enjoy a cocktail hour at Gong – Shangri-La’s hotel bar on the 52nd floor of The Shard. It’s pricey but perfect for a special occasion. This view from the Shard is definitely worth experiencing with a cocktail.

Devour one of Crumbs and Doilies cupcakes at their new shop in Soho, 1 Kingly Court to be exact.

Rustle up a winter warming (and colourful) beetroot soup with this recipe over on Florence Finds.
