The weekend edit #2

Hello November! This weekend is all about Halloween and Bonfire Night, signalling (dare I say it!) the start of the festive season and hurtling us even quicker to the end of the year. I’ve had to decide between the two this weekend and opted for Halloween due to an invite to go on a Jack the Ripper tour tomorrow. But I might grab some sparklers and mulled wine next week so I don’t completely miss out!

As I’m sure you’ve been bombarded with Halloween and Bonfire Night promotions, this weekend’s edit keeps the focus on regular things to do to enjoy the daytime hours.

Tuck into a roast dinner at one of these 20 restaurants and pubs recommended by the Londonist.

Drink lovely cocktails and enjoy the view of the Thames at the Dandelyan bar in the new Mondrian Hotel.

Enjoy the last leaves of autumn with a long walk across Richmond Park and see the protected view of St Paul’s from the peaceful King Henry’s Mound, 10 miles away from the city.

Rustle up bonfire night hot dogs with fine sausages from The Ginger Pig (or go down to your local market, I hear the new Peckham Market opens today!).

Book tickets for the next Cirque du Soleil show to arrive in London early next year at the Royal Albert Hall, Kooza.

What are your plans for the weekend? Are you embracing Halloween and Bonfire Night?

P.S I’m looking to find more London blogs (particularly with food and recipes) so if you have any recommendations do pop them in the comments below!

Ah THAT’s what the neon-blue lights and ‘Sea’ sign on the Southbank are, the new Mondrian!! (I was walking across Blackfriars Bridge last night and saw them but couldn’t work out what it was!) Bar looks great.

As for London blogs, I like http://www.littlelondongirl.co.uk -her style and post content is very similar to yours!!

I saw the Sea Containers building lit up on Sunday night, it’s quite striking! Thanks for the blog link, I’ll make sure I have a proper read this week 🙂
