My weekend coffee is best enjoyed in a proper cup, sat in a cozy cafe, contemplating a day free for filling with my own desires. But when the weather is good, and you can’t resist exploring outdoors but you still have a coffee craving, the next best thing is definitely independent coffee carts. You can find Bean About Town at various locations around the city, they have a fleet of coffee vans at the ready to satisfy your caffeine cravings Monday to Sunday.
I found them at the Real Food Festival at Southbank last weekend and I couldn’t resist grabbing a drink before a stroll along the Thames.
They source their beans from independent roasters, you can either buy your own bag or ask them to pour you your favourite coffee from a freshly ground batch.
Of course I wanted my coffee right there and then so I asked for my usual cappuccino and went to enjoy it with the view from Southbank.
Coffee-to-go is best enjoyed with a good view in my opinion. Bean About Town’s is a far better coffee than any of the local chains and with the extra bonus that you probably won’t find a long queues like you often find at prime locations in London. This means you can spend more time enjoying your local location. The riverside and Jubilee Gardens for me!
When you’re out and about town (or on your way to work in the week) and you get a coffee craving be sure to see whether Bean About Town are nearby. Their locations are listed here.
