Fresh food on my radar

Since returning to city life after Glastonbury I’ll admit I’ve struggled to keep up with all of the events happening in London this summer. There’s just so much going on in the sunshine! That said I’ve been reading more and more great reviews of old and new places and I’m slowly getting back into the swing of blogging and discovering great places to share. I’ve got some ideas for new pieces up my sleeve too so bear with me!

Today I thought I’d share the fresh food on my radar right now. Make sure you leave your recommendations below if you’ve tried any great food that we should know about.

Cookhouse Joe – Sister restaurant to Soho Joe, the popular cheap eat pizza place, it’s the latest venture by a husband and wife team keen to profit on their successes. It caught my attention when I spotted a review on Faerietale Foodie, the rotisserie chicken and Lebanese dishes sounded pretty good to me!

Truck Stop London – I can’t quite believe I haven’t been to a street food festival since Feast in March! The master’s of street food fun, Tweat Up, have recently launched Truck Stop London. Open to hungry Londoners the first few days of August and September, there’s a tasty line up, plus plenty of beer and cocktails. Giulia from Mondomulia shares her thoughts on one of the first nights in July.

Tommi’s Burger Joint – There may be a lot of hype about US burger imports at the moment but I’ve got my eye on the re-opening of this highly rated burger joint later this month. A convenient central location in Marylebone I reckon I can squeeze in a good lunch break or post-work feast. Hot Dinners tells us what we can expect of the new menu and venue.

Disco Bistro N1C– I missed out on their East London pop up earlier this year but luckily their appetite for providing great food hasn’t disappeared and you can now find them serving burgers, chicken wings and shakes at Skate Kings Cross. Burgers, fries and roller skating sounds like a fun night to me.

Beard to Tail– Set up by the owners of the great cocktail bar Callooh Callay, I’ve had my eye on Beard to Tail for a while. I tried and loved their pulled pork roll at Feast but it was the pictures of their 4th of July menu I received from my American friend Ashley that made me want to jump in a taxi and try it all for myself.
