Snapshots of the city ~ As autumn slips into winter…

The clocks have gone back, the temperature has dropped and the high street has turned its Christmas lights on. It all of a sudden feels like winter has arrived and we’re speeding to the end of the year! It’s scary how quickly a year goes by isn’t it? As autumn slips into winter I thought I’d share a few of my latest instagram snaps of the city before it’s full of twinkly lights, tinsel and festive hats.

Autumn colours and clear blue skies are such a pretty paring that makes leaving the house at early doors a whole lot easier. I’m going to miss those lovely leaves as they hide away for the long winter.

London Cocktail Week was a great way to find new places to keep warm during the cooler months. You can find my favourite finds in this post.

I discovered that taking your laptop to a nice little cafe is a low cost way to get out of the house, have a caffeine fuelled afternoon and get that little bit of extra work that’s being nagging at you finished. Ozone Coffee Roasters is definitely one place I’ll be heading back to this winter (Their peppermint hot chocolate is delicious if you’re not a coffee fan!)

Liberty London Girl is one inspiring lady, she’s had some amazing experiences, been through some tough times and has diligently worked her arse off to build her own consultancy and become one of the biggest bloggers around. I managed to get a ticket to an evening with LLG at the Hoxton Hotel and went home with a whole load of tips (and also the news that she’s in the middle of writing her own book!).

30 October and the tenth Full moon of the year passed by. This one was a beauty (if not a little mesmerising!).

Halloween popped its head in but I was more excited about bonfire night this year. I went south of the river to Streatham Common and thought that it was a great display for a free event.

I also took the opportunity to enjoy my bonfire essentials, including Mulled Wine! (There’s going to be a lot more of this in the next few weeks.)

As the first week of November comes to an end it’s not surprising that the Christmas lights are on their way and I spotted these in Seven Dials this Saturday!

But I was particularly excited to see the ice rink at Somerset House almost complete! I’ve been every year since I moved to London and it’s definitely a Christmas highlight.

Plenty of cupcakes seems like a perfect way to add a little winter layer on for when the temperature really drops (or snow arrives!). I had this black bottom Hummingbird Bakery cupcake at the weekend and it is uh-mazing.

What has filled your autumn? And what are you looking forward to this winter?
