The City Break wish list

It’s my final weekday work-free which means my holiday is coming to an end (*weeps*). I’ve enjoyed some fun in the sun in Croatia and returned to my favourite museum (the V&A) for a bit of fashion history, today I’m giving the blog a bit of TLC whilst thinking about where my next holiday will be.  If I had the choice I’d happily dip in and out of the world all year round, working my way through the endless city break wish list, so I thought I’d share my top five in this week’s ‘Friday finds’. I’d love to hear the top five places on your wish list so don’t forget to leave a comment below!

Paris, France

I know it’s not original and it’s the most obvious city break destination but I haven’t been there yet! Every time I commute through Kings Cross a part of me just wants to hop on the Eurostar and head out into Parisian heaven. I imagine I’d drink coffee, eat macarons and wander around Paris’ finest sites.

The Northern Lights look breath-taking just in pictures so seeing them in person would be an experience to remember.  I’d visit in winter, wrap up warm, take a dip in the Blue Lagoon and the city’s highlights by day and of course see the Lights at night, fuelled by lots of hot chocolate.

Barcelona, Spain

I remember attempting to draw Gaudi in art classes so to see it all up close would be amazing.  A summer destination where I’d also enjoy the Spanish shopping, soak up the sun on the city’s nearest beaches, and take in the atmosphere of Las Ramblas.

Salzburg, Austria

As the birth place of Mozart I imagine Salzburg as a place full of culture.  One to visit in the winter I think, where I’d get cultural and then spend some time in the mountains attempting to ski (and probably drinking hot chocolate all day).

Copenhagen, Denmark

As a city with a history dating back to 1043 there must be a lot of things to see and do here.  All found by bicycle of course.
