This City Life is going dot.com

I’m making This City Life a .com website this weekend.  I’d like to think I could be on my way to becoming a .com millionaire but in reality I know that this move will only satisfy my thirst for social media knowledge and hopefully provide a more interesting and engaging blog for you to enjoy.

As all this technology stuff is new to me, I’m not 100% sure what will happen when I make the switch! But what I can guarantee is that whilst it might not look the same (who knows what will happen when I delve into the world of CSS), it will have all the old posts and I’ve plenty of new posts.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:

  1. Brought a domain name at 123-reg.co.uk – about £15
  2. Brought web hosting facilities at bluehost.com – about £5 per month.
  3. Followed Blue Host’s instructions for setting up WordPress.
  4. Transferred the name server for my domain at 123-reg.com to my account at Blue Host. I followed Blue Host’s instructions but kept my domain name with 123-reg.com.
  5. Next – exporting wordpress.com to WordPress.org !

Once the move is complete, I’ll be sure to let you know the new address! If you’re reading this by email, hopefully I’ll be able to transfer your subscription over in the move.

If all this technology stuff isn’t your thing, make sure you keep an eye out for the posts as they appear on my .com site.  Here’s a sneak peak of just some of the things coming up….
